No embedded fan cooling makes it unsuitable for transferring a lot of data, despite the misleading picture on the box with large HDDs. No clear indication that this is a passive device and suitable for heavy use.In some OSs ejecting HDDs is tricky as they are labeled as the same dock/device and in some cases telling the HDD trays apart is tricky. The backup button works backward, common sense, and pictures would indicate that the target HDD is the one in the back. However, it's in front, which means the source HDD is much more further. The one which is meant to be swapped more frequently is now situated in such a way that reaching and swapping it can be awkward. Especially if it's on some shelf and you have limited space above the device. For casual use and for non-important data this is great. But wouldn't recommend for heavier loads. Because the USB external cases lose the HDD's S.M.A.R.T. capability, there is no way to remotely (or with scripts) monitor the temperature while doing transfers (touching HDDs while operate is not ideal as well).
