Why do I need to provide my payment details?
This is an annual subscription plan that is automatically renewed after the first term. Your payment details are required so that your subscription can be renewed at the end of the first term. The accepted payment methods* may vary by country.
Fees will not be charged until the subscription term for which you have paid has expired. Before being charged, you will receive an email informing you of the upcoming renewal and its price.
Is there a way to skip this step?
This information must be provided before you can activate the subscription. After activation, you can sign in to your Norton account and cancel Automatic Renewal.
What can I do if I do not want to renew after the first term?
It’s very simple. Once you have activated your subscription, sign in to your Norton account. Place your cursor over your Norton account name and click Automatic Renewal Settings. From here you can disable the Automatic Renewal feature.
How can I activate my subscription if I do not have a payment method?
Unfortunately this information is required in order to activate the subscription.
Where can I find the product key?
This depends on how you purchased the subscription. You can find the product key in the box which should contain a folder/card with the product key. For digital subscriptions you will receive the product key via email. The product key consists of 25 characters.
What is the purpose of a Norton account?
With your Norton account, you can easily view your purchases, update your billing profile and get additional features. You receive access to the My Norton portal where you can manage your Norton subscription services on all of your devices from one convenient location. Thanks to the easy online access to your Norton subscription services, you can ensure ongoing protection of your devices by performing specific actions on different devices from one central website.
Why do I need to create a Norton account?
Your Norton subscription service is associated with you, not with a specific device. You can install, uninstall and reinstall your Norton protection as many times as you want, on as many devices as you want (dependent on the number of devices covered by your subscription). To make this possible, we need a central point of contact to manage the subscription service, in this case your Norton account.
When will my subscription be activated?
Your subscription will be activated as soon as you have completed the installation. Specifically when you enter the product key and click on the arrow at the end of the field. After activation, you must download and install the software on each device that you want to protect (within the limit of devices covered by your subscription).
Why am I required to register for the automatic renewal service?
Norton Security is offered through a subscription service with an auto-renewal feature that provides uninterrupted protection. With this service, you do not need to worry about the expiration date. Your Norton subscription will automatically renew every year and you don’t have to do a thing. We will always email you before your upcoming renewal. For this reason it is of upmost importance that your contact details are up-to-date. You can cancel your Norton subscription by logging into your account at www.norton.com or if you prefer you can contact Norton Support.
If you cancel your subscription, you also cancel the auto-renewal billing feature. This means that your subscription will not renew on the new renewal date, however, your Norton protection will continue until the end of your current paid subscription term.
What are the benefits of an automatic subscription renewal service?
When you subscribe to the automatic renewal service for Norton subscriptions, you are ensuring that you do not lose your protection. You do not have to remember to renew your subscription in order to maintain protection. We will email you (usually 30 to 45 days) before Norton Security’s annual renewal takes place so that it does not come as a surprise. In this email you can find important information such as the price for the following year and the subscription renewal and billing dates.

How do I cancel the Automatic Renewal Service?
It’s very simple. Once you have activated your subscription, sign in to your Norton account. Place your cursor over your Norton account name and click Automatic Renewal Settings. From here you can disable the Automatic Renewal feature and prevent your subscription from being renewed. If you cancel the Auto-renewal feature, your subscription will not renew on the next annual renewal date. However, your Norton protection will continue until the end of your current paid subscription term. Whenever your subscription is about the expire, Norton Protection will prompt you to manually renew your service.
