The power of fibre optics with Wi-Fi 6
FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber Edition AON and FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber Edition XGS-PON offer the full range of FRITZ!Box functions directly on the fibre-optic connection. The SFP module is already inserted in the built-in fibre optic module socket - depending on the FRITZ!Box model, that is an SFP module for AON or for XGS-PON. The new fibre-optic flagships distribute speed lightning-fast wirelessly via Wi-Fi 6 (4 × 4) and via a 2.5 gigabit port that can be used as a WAN and a LAN connection. Four gigabit LAN and two USB 3.0 ports round off the high-speed equipment.

Works on any connection
Various fibre-optic technologies are used in the Netherlands. FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber Edition AON and FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber Edition XGS-PON provide systems for network access via fibre and are prepared for the most common connection types AON and XGS-PON.

Innovative Wi-Fi 6 for a home network with many Wi-Fi terminal devices
The standard Wi-Fi 6 takes into account the ever-growing number of Wi-Fi devices. From smartphones, tablets, PCs, 4K TVs and speakers to smarthome applications, more and more devices are being used simultaneously in the Wi-Fi network. By reducing latency, Wi-Fi 6 ensures a fast and stable data stream. FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber offers a bandwidth of 2400 Mbit/s in the 5 GHz band and 1200 Mbit/s in the 2.4 GHz band for many parallel applications. At these high throughput speeds, Wi-Fi 6 additionally ensures longer battery life for mobile devices in the home network.

Strong as a hub in the Mesh Wi-Fi network
As a Wi-Fi Mesh Central, the FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber is prepared for the highest demands in the home network. In the Mesh Wi-Fi network, scattered Wi-Fi points (e.g. FRITZ!Box and multiple FRITZ!Repeaters) are merged into one smart Mesh Wi-Fi network. As Mesh Master, the FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber is the hub of the FRITZ! Mesh Wi-Fi network and actively controls all other access points, so that the Wi-Fi end devices used in the home network are always logged on to the access point with the best connection (Mesh Wi-Fi steering).

Telephony and smarthome options for all
The integrated VoIP telephone exchange has two connections for analogue phones and a DECT base station for up to six cordless phones (e.g. all FRITZ!Fons). Even IP phones and smartphones become fully-fledged phones on the Internet connection via Wi-Fi. With an integrated answering machine, local phone books and online phone books as well as numerous convenience functions, telephony - also for professional applications - leaves nothing to be desired.
