The Sapphire PURE B850A WIFI7 is a full-size ATX motherboard designed for AMD processors using the Socket AM5 platform. It is compatible with AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 Series processors and features the AMD B850 chipset. The board comes in a clean white finish and measures 305 x 244 mm. It supports DDR5 memory across four DIMM slots in dual-channel configuration, with a maximum capacity of 256 GB and overclocked speeds up to 8000 MHz. For storage, four SATA III connectors are available alongside three M.2 slots, with the primary slot supporting PCIe 5.0 and the remaining two running on PCIe 4.0.
Connectivity and Expansion
The B850A WIFI7 offers a broad range of connectivity options. On the rear panel you will find four USB 2.0 ports, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port. Video output is handled by one HDMI and one DisplayPort. Wired networking is provided by a 2.5G LAN controller using the Realtek RTL8125 chipset. A single PCIe 5.0 x16 slot is available for discrete graphics cards.
Wireless and Audio Capabilities
The board includes integrated Wi-Fi 7 support, covering standards from 802.11b through to the latest 802.11be specification, making it well suited for high-speed wireless connections. Bluetooth 5.4 is also built in. Two antenna jacks are present on the rear for optimal wireless reception. Audio is handled by a Realtek ALC897 chip delivering 7.1 channel surround sound output, with six headphone output connections available.
