The ASRock B850I Lightning WiFi is a compact Mini-ITX motherboard designed for AMD processors, fitting seamlessly into the Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series via Socket AM5. Built around the AMD B850 chipset, this black board measures just 170 x 170 mm, making it an excellent choice for small form factor builds that do not compromise on performance. It supports up to 128 GB of DDR5 memory across two DIMM slots in dual-channel configuration, with overclocked speeds reaching beyond 8200 MHz.
Storage and Expansion
The B850I Lightning WiFi offers two M.2 slots, with the first supporting PCIe 5.0 and the second PCIe 4.0, both accommodating up to 2280-sized drives. Two SATA III connectors are also available for additional storage options. For GPU installation, a single PCIe 5.0 x16 slot is present. Video output is handled via an HDMI 2.1 port supporting resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 pixels with HDCP support.
Connectivity and Audio
Networking is handled by a Killer E3100G 2.5G LAN controller alongside Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.2 for fast wireless connectivity. The board provides extensive USB options including USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C ports, as well as multiple USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0 ports. Audio is powered by a Realtek ALC1220 chip delivering 7.1 channel output, complemented by S/PDIF output and a front panel audio connector for a complete audio setup.
