The ASRock B850M Pro RS is a Micro-ATX motherboard built on the AMD B850 chipset, designed for use with AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 Series processors via the Socket AM5 platform. With its compact 244 x 244 mm form factor finished in silver and black, this board offers a solid foundation for building a capable and modern desktop system. It supports DDR5 memory across four DIMM slots with dual-channel configuration and a maximum capacity of 256 GB, with overclocked memory speeds reaching beyond 8000 MHz.
Connectivity and Expansion
The ASRock B850M Pro RS is well equipped when it comes to storage and expansion options. It features three M.2 slots, with the primary slot supporting PCIe 5.0 for next-generation NVMe drives, while the remaining two slots operate at PCIe 4.0. Four SATA III connectors provide additional storage flexibility. For expansion, a single PCIe 5.0 x16 slot is available for a dedicated graphics card. USB connectivity is extensive, including USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C ports, multiple USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and eight USB 2.0 ports in total.

The board includes integrated display outputs consisting of one HDMI 2.1 port and one DisplayPort 1.4, supporting resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 pixels. Audio is handled by a Realtek ALC897 chip delivering 7.1 channel output. Wired networking is provided by a Dragon RTL8125BG controller supporting 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, while Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are not included.
