The MSI PRO B850M-A WIFI PZ is a Micro-ATX motherboard built on the AMD B850 chipset, designed for use with AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 Series processors via the Socket AM5 platform. It supports DDR5 memory across four DIMM slots in dual-channel configuration, with a maximum capacity of 256 GB and clock speeds reaching up to 8200 MHz in overclocked mode.
Storage and Expansion
The MSI PRO B850M-A WIFI PZ is equipped with two M.2 slots, with the primary slot supporting PCIe 5.0 and the secondary slot running on PCIe 4.0, both accommodating drives up to 2280 in size. Additional storage connectivity is provided through four SATA III ports. For expansion, the board features a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot alongside a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot and a PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, offering flexibility for graphics cards and other add-in components.
Connectivity and Networking
On the networking side, the board includes a Realtek RTL8126 5G wired LAN controller and integrated Wi-Fi 7 support, along with backward compatibility down to Wi-Fi 1. Bluetooth 5.4 is also included. The extensive USB offerings cover USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C ports, USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and USB 2.0 ports. Display output is handled via one HDMI 2.1 port and one DisplayPort 1.4 output, while onboard audio is managed by a Realtek ALC897 chip supporting 7.1-channel output.
