The Synology DiskStation DS425+ is a compact and capable 4-bay NAS designed for home and home office use. Powered by an Intel Celeron J4125 quad-core processor running at 2 GHz with a turbo boost up to 2.7 GHz, it comes with 2 GB of DDR4 memory, expandable up to 6 GB. The unit supports up to 80 TB of total storage capacity across its four drive bays, compatible with 3.5-inch, 2.5-inch, and M.2 drives, supporting both HDD and SSD storage. With a power consumption of just 28.25 W and a noise level of 21.6 dB, it runs efficiently and quietly.
Connectivity and Performance
The DS425+ features two 2.5 GbE LAN ports for fast wired network connectivity, along with two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports for additional peripheral connections. Wake-on-LAN support allows for convenient remote power management, and web-based management makes administration straightforward. Up to 512 users can be supported, and the system includes Access Control List functionality for detailed permission management.

Hot-swap support allows drives to be replaced without powering down the system.
