Not Entirely Happy

  • It works, it is quiet.
  • all Cable lengths are very short.
  • Description suggests wider comparability than is realistic.

Quoted from the specifications at time of writing: "Flexible compatibility: With the included SFX-to-ATX bracket, the V SFX Gold ATX 3.1 can be used to power systems ranging from as small as a mini-ITX all the way up to E-ATX motherboards." Yeah... the motherboard power cable included with this power supple, is shorter than a regular ATX board. if you expect to be mounting this in an ATX case with the typical desktop tower form factor, there is zero chance the cable will reach the power supply. With the motherboard I have, the power supply not only has to be left loose inside the case, but it's back side is constantly lifted off the bottom due to the short cable length. So 'Flexible compatibility' is literally a real stretch. Other than that it works fine. a lot of the other cable are obviously very short, forcing me to give up some storage despite the fact there are more connectors than I need... but they are 'long enough' to get the job done well enough... Considering I used the Paradigit part picker to pick out these components, including both motherboard and case, a warning about potential cable length issues would have been nice.
