The Gigabyte Z790 EAGLE is a high-performance ATX motherboard built around the Intel Z790 chipset, designed for use with 12th, 13th, and 14th generation Intel Core processors on Socket 1700. The board supports up to 256GB of DDR5 memory across four DIMM slots in dual-channel configuration, with overclocked speeds reaching up to 7600 MHz.
Storage and Expansion
The Z790 EAGLE provides extensive storage and expansion options. Three M.2 slots are available, with the first supporting drives up to 22110 in size via PCIe 4.0, and the second and third accommodating drives up to 2280, also via PCIe 4.0. In addition, four SATA III connectors offer further storage flexibility. For expansion cards, the board features one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, and two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots, giving users plenty of room to configure their system.
Connectivity and Audio
On the connectivity front, the board includes a Realtek RTL8125 2.5G LAN controller for fast wired networking, along with a comprehensive USB lineup including USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C ports. Display output is handled via one HDMI 2.1 port and one DisplayPort 1.2, supporting resolutions up to 4096 x 2304 pixels. Audio is driven by the Realtek ALC897 chip delivering 7.1-channel sound, complemented by S/PDIF output.
