I purchased this router to use as an access point really after wiring my Attic with CAT6 cable from my UPC router in groundfloor as I could not get decent wifi coverage.I had seen some positive reviews, even against the next higher versions C8 and C9I was already using the new CAT6 cable in the Attic for working, but bought the Archer C7 to give better coverage in the upstairs of the house for the rest of the familyOnce I set it up (as an access point only...no routing) I found that the dual band 2.4/5 GHz performed so well, I was getting better speeds downstairs then the crappy UPC boxI may just move it downstairs and make it the main router and turn off the UPC router wifi completely as it has much more features w.r.t. Parental Control, Guest Access, etc.Great piece of kit!(upgrade your firmware before installing though...stock firmware is 2 years old)
